Absinthe Restaurant & Bar

I thought I'd start this blog off with my latest Birthday Dinner... And it will be followed by my previous Birthday Dinners, because these are the Meals that are Most Memorable for Me...
Birthdays, for Me, are a Time to Celebrate with Family & Good Friends...
And there's no better way to Celebrate, in My Mind, than with Food.

One word.
Wow.
Went there for my bday dinner this year and I have to say that it has been quite some time since I've had my socks knocked off and this meal really took it there...

In my mind, a great meal can be likened to many things...
A Great Movie.. Does it linger in your mind for days, weeks even, afterwards?
Great Sex.. Do your nips get hard? Eyes roll back? Moaning?
*sigh*

This Meal was just like that. I suffered all of the these symptoms and it lingered on my mind long after the Meal was done...

So let me Break it Down...
We started with a dozen Oysters - Fanny Bays and Kumamotos. Love me my Kumamotos! We coupled that with the Camembert and Black-Truffle Butter (Served warm) with Toasted Walnuts, which was a good combination.

For My Main, I had the Grilled Rib-eye Steak (I splurged and upgraded it to the Niman. Trust me, well worth it) and it came with Roasted Beef Marrow, Sauted Rainbow Chard, and French Fries (prepared 'Frites' style) which were fantastic. The Steak was prepared so perfectly, Medium Rare, of course, that it Melted in my Mouth like Butter. Now that's a perfectly prepared Steak.
Absinthe and Steak, who knew? Now let's take it back to the Roasted Beef Marrow for a moment. I have never had this before and OH MY GOD! that stuff is For Real! You are not f-ing around if you eat that stuff. It is straight Evil, Buttery Goodness... Ay Nako!
My dining companions, the Ladies of E4, had the Halibut, which knocked my socks off as well and the Pork Loin, both prepared perfectly.

To top it off, I thought the Service was Great. All in all, this meal is in my Top 5 All-time Greatest Meals, and I do not say that often. Being that I am always in search of my next Great Meal, it was so appropriate that I should go to bed on my birthday night, languishing the fantastic Meal that was in my Tummy.
Happy Birthday To Me! I'm SO Happy...
Bravo, Absinthe, bravo...
